How can we see what life should be and where we limit it?

Two churches in Florida, one white and the other historically black, merged in the wake of the racial tensions that exist now with the recent verdicts of the case surrounding Michael Brown. It is a stark reminder that we are a society that thrives on division, where the majority really rules and does everything to stay in power. It can go across any and all lines that help the individual to distinguish themselves from “the other”. This sign of solidarity between the two radically and racially different churches proves that we should look beyond the things that divide us. It reminds us that we are all a part of one family, the human family. We may not look the same, but science has proven that we are mostly identical in terms of DNA. We are also the same in a spiritual sense and we are all trying to make sense of the world that we live in. We should not view the difference, but rather, we should view the similarities and the recognition of unity under a single cause.
