How can we tell if we truly changed?

The Turkish gunman who shot the now saint John Paul II paid an unexpected visit to the tomb of the Pope, who is now a saint, to lay down flowers. This is further proof of the power of the late pope and the change that the gunman went through after the event. After the shooting, the pope paid a visit to the gunman in jail to hear his confessions and to be absolved of them. This proof of radical change is a true indication of how we should change. Out of the darkness of our lives, we are able to rise above the hate and influence of the world and change our outlook on life through the influence of just one person. We know when we truly change by looking at the attitude of the individual before and after the incident. Change starts with the individual and the individual changes internally before the external change can take place.
